TPG Marine has been in business under this corporate moniker since September, 2004.  The company has closed or set in motion many lucrative deals in a very short time.  There is little doubt that TPG Marine is poised to build upon this base of business for many years to come.

TPG Marine has identified a special area of commercial development for which there is little competition.  There are many similar opportunities such as those identified below for TPG Marine to assist a publicly or privately owned port to market and operate their dock.  Likewise, there are many other cities on the Inland Waterway that have under-utilized their presence on a navigable river for barging commodities.  TPG Marine can work with these cities to enhance maritime industrial development.

TPG Marine also has the capability of expanding its expertise into other opportunities that have applications both on and off the Inland Waterway.

The following profiles some of TPG Marine’s current projects:

Cincinnati, Ohio and Chicago/Lemont, Illinois.
The individual owners of TPG Marine have created the TPG Marine Voting Trust which controls a certain percentage of ownership in real estate, long-term leases and a stevedoring company in Cincinnati, Ohio and Lemont, Illinois (Chicago).  The stevedoring company is TPG Noramco, LLC and is a member of the Transmodal Performance Group of companies.  Essentially, after certain preferred payments are made to the TPG Voting Trust, its ownership levels out to 10.7%.  TPG Marine also holds a separate contract for services at these sites which make them responsible for cargo and tenant attraction.

Mt. Vernon, Indiana.
TPG Mt. Vernon Marine, LLC is controlling owner of Mt. Vernon Barge Service and Mt. Vernon Fleeting Service.  See the Waterways Journal article under “News & Marketing”.

Peoria/Mapleton, Illinois.
TPG Marine was involved in the initial development of the Caterpillar, Inc. property in Mapleton, Illinois located on the Illinois River.  The Heart of Illinois Regional Port District (TransPORT) is now operating at this location.

Nationwide.
TPG Marine launched a new business in August 2009 called TPG Green Solutions, LLC.  Among other things, TPG Green Solutions has identified and markets numerous green products that specifically solve erosion control problems along the banks of the Inland Waterways.  See our page on this site which gives more detail about TPG Green Solutions.
